We began in 2013 with a simple idea; to create a place in Aberdeen where great food and genuine community could come together. When we took over a small café called Foodstory on Rose Street, we had a vision, the drive and strong sense of purpose. Lacking the money we needed to achieve our dreams, we ended up turning to the people. Through a crowdfunding campaign, the local community alongside family and friends helped us bring the next chapter of Foodstory to life and to grow it into the beloved establishment we have today.

From the beginning, this was always about more than just serving food an coffee. We wanted to build a safe and welcoming space where anyone could come in, eat well, feel comfortable, and be part of something, whether through good conversation, music, art, or simply a sense of belonging. Much of the café was built by hand, with donated furniture and salvaged materials, giving Foodstory the character and warmth that still define it today.

After 13 years it has expanded across 4 sites, undergone numerous transformations and our upstairs space has been a wholefoods shop, sound system venue, pop up restaraunt and yoga studio and in 2023 we expanded our operations into Edinburgh.

But throughout it all we have always tried to remain humble and stick to our core values of bringing good food, good coffee and community to everywhere we go.
